Yeah, it's been a while. I still saved labels but I'm behind on rankings and commentary.
Scoring 9 out of 10, a rare very high score for me:
Kopke, Fine Ruby Porto (Portugal) - This is markedly more expensive than most of the port brands found in Boston and I was skeptical. But I find it to be remarkably fresh and fruity and exhibits lots of cherry, and it's lighter weight than many other ports. Nice. Note we're part way into their Tawny and I don't feel the same about that version. The Tawny is more ordinary to me. This Ruby is delicious.
Scoring 8 out of 10 for excellent:
Fonseca, Terra Bella, Reserve Porto Made with Organic Grapes (P0rtugal) - Very bold fruit forward port with tobacco and leather and lots of unctuous goodness.
